Compliance Dismissals

If you received a citation for the offenses below, you may request that the ticket be dismissed if the violation is corrected within twenty working days of the issuance of the ticket. Please bring all proof with you to Court.

To request a dismissal, you must enter a written plea of Guilty or Nolo Contendere, provide the court with a receipt for each renewal, and pay the required fee for each corrected violation within twenty working days of citation issuance. Violations not corrected within twenty working days from the offense date and presented to the court within the same timeframe will not be accepted for dismissal.

IMPORTANT! ALL DOCUMENTS PRESENTED TO THE MUNICIPAL COURT ARE VERIFIED.
FILING A FRAUDULENT DOCUMENT WITH A COURT IS A FELONY.

Dismissals Allowed by Statute Are:

Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility (Insurance) No Fee

  1. You must provide a copy of your valid insurance policy that was in effect on the date and at the time of your citation within twenty working days of receiving the citation.

Failure to Present Driver’s License $10 Fee

  1. You must present to the court within twenty working days a valid driver’s license issued prior to the date and time of the citation.
  2. You must pay a $10 administration fee.

Expired Driver’s License (TX. Trans. Code 521.026) $20 Fee

  1. You must renew your license within twenty working days of receiving the citation and provide proof of renewal to the court within the same timeframe.
  2. You must pay a $20 administration fee.

Expired Vehicle Registration (TX. Trans. Code 502.407) $20 Fee

  1. You must get the vehicle registered within twenty working days and provide proof of registration to the court within the same timeframe.
  2. You must pay a $20 administration fee.

Please Note: Some violations require an affidavit to be filed as proof of compliance. These violations are:

  • Defective equipment violations.
  • Altered, unclean, or obscured license plate violations.
  • Operating a vehicle with no license plate or only one (1) license plate on the vehicle.

Please print, fill out and sign the affidavit below and submit to the court within twenty working days.
