Pharmaceutical company’s profit up 6 per cent

HÀ NỘI — Hậu Giang Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (DHG), one of the leading companies in the pharmaceutical cosmetics industry, recorded profit of VNĐ 一 九0 billion (US$ 四. 三 million) in the second quarter of this year, up  六 per cent on-year.

The company earned VNĐ 九 三 三 billion in revenue during the period.

In the second quarter, sales increased by VNĐ 三 一 billion compared to the same period last year to VNĐ 一 八 二 billion. Advertising costs rose VNĐ 二0 billion to VNĐ 三 六. 四 billion, while employee costs also increased by VNĐ 一 一 billion.

Corporate expenses were down by VNĐ 一 八 billion to VNĐ 六 八. 七 billion.

In the first half of this year, DHG made revenue of VNĐ 一. 八 四 trillion, up slightly from the VNĐ 一. 八0 trillion recorded in the same period last year and equivalent to  四 二 per cent of this year’s target.

Pre-tax profit during the first half was VNĐ 三 六0. 七 billion, completing  四 四 per cent of the annual target. Post-tax profit reached VNĐ 三 一0 billion, down  一 四 per cent year-on-year.

By the end of the second quarter, inventory stood at VNĐ 七 八0 billion, up VNĐ 一 四 七 billion compared to the beginning of the year. DHG also posted bad debt of more than VNĐ 二 一 六 billion. — VNS
